Consultant, Certified Professional Coder

Job Summary:
BlueStone Service’s Medical Business Advisory division is recruiting a Certified Professional Coder who has experience in credentialling and coding. This Part-time position offers a hybrid working arrangement with our main office located in Timonium, Maryland

 

Education and Experience
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong background in chart audits and credentialing.
• Experience in credentialing with government and commercial pares.
• Management experience of overseeing other coding staff.
• Familiarity with multiple EHR systems.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Identify coding errors, discrepancies, or opportunities for improvement and provide feedback to healthcare providers.
  • Conduct detailed audits of medical charts to validate coding accuracy, documentation completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for enhancing coding efficiency and revenue integrity. • Manage credentialing processes for healthcare providers, ensuring all required documentation and credentials are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze complex medical records and coding data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • Versatile with coding in multiple healthcare specialties including dental.
  • Advanced knowledge with Microsoft products such as Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding, chart auditing, and documentation review.
